Kopr-Kote® Geothermal
Drill Collar & Tool Joint Compound

KOPR-KOTE GEOTHERMAL is a high-performance, unleaded compound formulated for rotary-shouldered connections. With a proprietary blend of copper flake, graphite, and natural extreme pressure and anti-wear additives, suspended in a thermally stable bentone clay thickener, this compound is engineered to provide superior protection, control makeup torque, and maintain joint integrity under extreme high temperature, vibration and pressure conditions.

Ideal for use in geothermal drilling operations, where extreme thermal cycling and torque demands require reliable thread compound performance at elevated temperatures and under harsh downhole conditions.

KOPR-KOTE GEOTHERMAL’s solid package is formulated to prevent excessive circumferential makeup by increasing the coefficient of friction under compressive forces. As stress levels rise above 50% of yield, the friction factor increases, limiting downhole makeup. Full hydraulic joint efficiency is maintained allowing joint shoulder faces to make completely without standoff or deformation.

Benefits

  • Contains no lead or zinc.
  • Extreme pressure additives provide additional protection against seizing and galling and allow consistent makeup.
  • Strong adhesion strength sticks to wet joints.
  • Unequaled resistance to makeup downhole.
  • Withstands high temperatures up to 700°F (370°C).
